Quite simply it’s the most focused, results-orientated form of training available.
We start by profiling each individual to determine what attributes need to be developed. Where possible, we observe individuals performing their roles and follow this with feedback, to improve the specific behaviours that will make the biggest difference to their results.
The coaching is made up of several sessions and takes place over a period of weeks. Some sessions will be in the workplace, others at outside venues depending upon the material being covered.
What are the benefits of the coaching approach?
Because of its association with top sports people, individual coaching by an outside expert is viewed as a positive benefit by most people. This is reinforced by the coach who will explain that their role is to optimise performance, by fine tuning techniques and making sure mental attitudes support high achievement.
For the individual it means:
An instant boost of motivation
The opportunity to learn without being observed by their staff or peers
One-to-one focused attention in a confidential setting
An opportunity to achieve their full potential
For the organisation, the benefits are increased performance and productivity, but also the efficiency of the way these are achieved:
No wasted time; each person only learns what they need to learn
Minimal time spent off the job
More motivated staff
Improved productivity
When should we use performance coaching?
We recommend performance coaching for three specific situations:
Sometimes a key individual needs help to improve a specific aspect of their performance or to move to the next level. Outstanding results rely on more then just the tools of the trade. They rely on confidence, self-belief and determination. Coaching can create and nurture a positive mindset, helping people to overcome barriers and achieve their targets every time.
After attending a training workshop, individuals come away with an action plan and full of resolve to change. One-to-one coaching, used as a follow-up, can help the transfer of learning and ensure maximum benefit is gained from the training investment.
If you only have one individual to train, coaching can be a cost-effective way of getting an individual up to a high level of performance.
All Virada coaches are highly qualified and are selected to work with specific companies on the basis of their background and experience with a particular type of business environment.
